About

One person,
who has done the work.

Selah Talent Partners places preconstruction, cost and commercial, and project and construction management people with US contractors and construction consultancies. It is one recruiter, not a desk of them, and that is the entire proposition.

Principles

How we show up for every search.

Discretion

Confidentiality is presumed from the first message. Replacing someone who is still in the seat is a normal request here, and it is handled without a posting, a broadcast, or a trace.

Fluency

Delivery method, contract type and scope get discussed in your own vocabulary. Design-bid-build is not CM-at-risk, a GMP is not a lump sum, and a shortlist assembled without that distinction wastes your week.

Permanence

The same person on your account in five years. Not a promise about service levels, a consequence of there being nobody to hand you to.

Follow-through

120-day replacement guarantee, with check-ins at 30, 60, 90 and 120 days. A placement is not finished on the start date, which is when most of them actually fail.

Our Story

Built by someone who carried the number.

From New Mexico, USA, to the rest of the world

Selah Talent Partners is Stefan Greeff. The background is cost and commercial management: estimating, cost planning, change control, and the unglamorous work of defending a number to people who would prefer a different one.

The firm exists because of a specific, repeated experience on the hiring side. A recruiter calls, uses the right nouns, and sends four resumes that look plausible on paper. Two of them are takeoff technicians described as estimators. One has never seen a GMP conversion. The hiring manager, who has a project to run, ends up doing the screening themselves, which is the job they were paying someone else to do.

That is not a shortage problem, whatever the industry press says about one. It is a screening problem, and it is solvable by a person who can hold a real technical conversation. So the model here is deliberately small: one recruiter, three live searches at a time, and work turned down rather than delivered badly. With a handful of placements a year, one public failure is a material share of the reputation being built.

The name is worth a word. Selah appears 74 times in the Hebrew scriptures, mostly in the Psalms. It is a word marking a deliberate pause, whose full meaning scholars have never settled. That felt right for a firm whose entire argument is that the pause before a hire, the conversation nobody wants to pay for, is where the outcome is actually decided.

The Selah Standard

What you can hold this firm to.

Selah is run on Christian principles. In practice that is a statement about conduct rather than about belief, and it is meant to be checkable rather than admired.

"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men." (Colossians 3:23) The practical version: you get told what the market actually looks like, including when the answer is that the role as written will not fill at the salary offered. A recruiter who only ever agrees with you is managing you, not advising you.

"Let your yes be yes and your no be no." (Matthew 5:37) If a search is outside what can be done well, it gets declined rather than accepted and quietly under-served. Three live searches at a time is a real ceiling, not a marketing number.

"A false balance is an abomination to the Lord, but a just weight is his delight." (Proverbs 11:1) Candidates are never charged anything, in any form, ever. No candidate is submitted anywhere without a real job order and their knowledge. Fees are published, and the basis they are calculated on is stated in writing before an engagement starts.

What this does not mean

No candidate is screened on religion. Faith is never a hiring criterion, never a question asked in a screening conversation, and never a factor in whether someone is presented for a role. It plays no part in any referral decision.

Clients do not need to be Christian. The Standard describes how this firm works. It is not a requirement placed on anyone who hires us, and it has no bearing on who we will work with.

Equal opportunity. Selah Talent Partners is an equal opportunity employment agency. We do not discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, age, disability, genetic information, veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by applicable federal, state or local law. Every candidate is evaluated on their ability to do the job.

Alongside this, the commercial commitment: a 120-day replacement guarantee on every placement. Values statements are easy to write. The guarantee is the part that costs something when the firm gets it wrong.

The longer version, including what each of these commitments costs when it is kept, is in a letter from the founder.

Our Standard

You work with the founder,
not a delivery team.

Every search is run by the same person who took the brief. There is no junior researcher the account gets handed to after the intake call, because there is no delivery layer at all. No translation loss, no misread brief, and no quota pushing anyone to fill a role rather than fill it correctly.

The focus areas are narrow on purpose. In preconstruction and cost, that means preconstruction managers, chief estimators, estimating managers, senior estimators, and cost and commercial managers. In project and construction management, project managers, senior project managers, project executives, construction managers and project directors. In construction consultancy, cost consultants, associate directors of cost management, owner's representatives and project controls leads.

What a firm builds does not decide whether we can help. Commercial building, heavy civil, industrial, healthcare, education: all of it qualifies. The discipline is what stays fixed, because that is where the founder can tell the difference between a good candidate and a plausible one.

Our Process

Four stages. Zero ambiguity.

01

Intake

45 to 60 minutes on delivery method, project type, team structure, and why the last person left.

02

Talent Map

Who exists for that role in that metro, at what level, moving or not, at what compensation. Anonymized, and free.

03

Screen

A real technical conversation with every candidate, run by the founder rather than delegated.

04

Land

Three to five candidates by day 21, offer management, and a 120-day guarantee with scheduled check-ins.
